To: nick@nite Executives

Lately, Sims 3 has been crashing on me, so I haven’t been able to play (And it takes a long time to load- 40 something minutes to an hour!) a lot. However, I’ve been watching plenty of TV shows, most of them on Nickelodeon or Disney. And guess what realizations I came up with?

1) Nickelodeon does a poor job at ‘blending’ Nickelodeon to nick@nite: This is their schedule. They have Family Matters at 8:00. That’s good, right? Well, they continue it with Everybody Hates Chris at 9:00. Then, they have… George Lopez at 10:00. Yeah, sure, I know 10:00 is when they should be having less kid-friendly stuff, but at 11:00, they have Malcolm in the Middle. You’d think they’d switch that order around.

2) nick@nite: is obsessed with George Lopez: Yeah, while there’s more of The Nanny on nick@nite according to that schedule, there’s been tons of George Lopez marathons: Luck O’ the Lopez, Labor de Lopez, “Lopez-olutions”, Thanks, Lopez, Whole Lotta Lopez, La Vida de Lopez, Lopezadrine, George Lopez is Seeing Stars… and those are just some of them.  And did I mention it’s just been on since Fall 2007?  At least 8 marathons and it hasn’t even been 3 years yet!

3) nick@nite will always have haters: Other than the obvious “There will always be haters” message, nick@nite used to show old shows from the sixties in the eighties. Lately, though, they’ve been showing more and more new shows (As in, shows from 2009), so their first demographic is left out. And not to mention, there’s more than five decades to choose reruns from, and plenty of networks. There will always be people who aren’t fans of the lineup. I mean, if you didn’t like it the first time, why would you watch it now?

And for the Jersey Shore’s second season… it had a boring premiere.

What? Seriously, Nick?

Yesterday, I read that The Fairly Oddparents was going to have a live-action movie adaptation, and Drake Bell was going to star in it.

I never really liked The Fairly Oddparents when it was on (And according to Wikipedia… it still is on. Cash cow much?) and I liked other cartoons more. And I wasn’t really a fan of Drake and Josh (More because of Megan, but whatever), either. So reading about this movie had me annoyed. I’m just hoping the movie will be so bad it’s horrible that it will kill Fairly Odd Parents for good.

To Drake Bell: Seriously, what were you thinking? Your career isn’t really successful right now, and going back to Nickelodeon won’t help you out.

And apparently the helium-voiced Fred is also getting a Nickelodeon movie?

Yeah, Nickelodeon’s future projects are looking bad. Tell me when Jane Lynch will guest star on iCarly, and then I’ll be watching Nick again.

Custom Content Cleaning Shouldn’t be like this!

So yesterday, I decided I should begin to uninstall stuff for Late Night. Yes, you read that right. That’s how much custom content I have. Most of it isn’t stuff I wanted to download. They just came with households that had hair I liked (Remember my .package downloading problem? I decided to get more hairs via the exchange method). Before, it would take my game around forty minutes to load to the family. After getting rid of plenty of custom content (Though most were just make up and shoes), guess how long it took the game to load? 1 and a half hour. Yeah. Really, EA? I get rid of custom content, and the loading gets worse?

Spot the Difference!

Source: My Sims 3 BlogSource: My Sims 3 Blog

Want to tell me? It appears that nobody could tell the difference!newseacopy1newseacopy2newseacopy3 newseacopy4

And apparently, Anonymous found the difference:

Seriously, though, the Flower hairstyle looks like a duplicate, and it’s still subscriber only. Really, Newsea? You’re going to be charging people for that hairstyle, and you couldn’t even make it unique?

Blog Makeovers

I decided to head to Draft Blogger today and I somewhat changed this blog’s layout. I also changed Armenian Twin Sim's layout.

And I added a Recent Comments part so I could remember to check for comments.

The Sims 3: Late Night Confirmed!

Gasp! An expansion pack is announced- and this time, it appears EA picked one that everyone wants (Well, you know, everyone except the Pets and Weather fans)!

The Sims 3: Late Night appears to be answering our parent-Sims’ requests who want a little fun. But more importantly, it seems to be answering the requests of the Simmers who wanted night clubs, more instruments, vampires, and hot tubs. Yup, EA did include all of those, well, at least according to the trailer:

Yay, new instruments (At :10, and :35)! The music career gets kind of really dull if the only instrument is a guitar. Besides, how could the symphonic career use guitars? Cellos and keyboards will make it better. And drums? Looks like the music career is getting a new revamp. Well, that seemed obvious, seeing as the preview’s description says Sims could be in a music band. This makes me curious for how the skills will be set up. As long as they aren’t hidden skills, I’m okay.

I hope the band will be self-employment or like a profession.

Nightclubs seem awesome, too. Finally I could have dates at other places for my Sims (the Watering Hole Juice Bar gets boring after 5 months of playing). And now we could finally find Sims outside their houses after 10:30!

Is it too soon to say that EA is getting my respect? With two good expansion pack ideas, plenty of guy hairs in Ambitions, and actually listening to their customers (hot tubs, instruments, and vampires), it seems like EA is improving. Now if only we could get better Sim Gurus.

And also, have you gotten your 500 Simpoints yet?

Today’s the Day!

According to SimPrograms, today at 1PM PST, EA will have their annual EA Studio Showcase. You could watch it here. I wonder what will they’ll be announcing. Will they confirm or deny After Dark? Will they be telling us about The Sims 3 console features some more?

Knowing EA, though, they’re probably going to be repeating everything they’ve already announced, like the “Brand new Karma Powers”, or the ability to download creations from Xbox Live and PSN (Like we really need another glitched up exchange). Or they’re probably going to just have Weasel Words about the games’ bugs. Heck, they might not even mention The Sims 3!

But hey… 40 minutes left?

And today’s also when Lindsay Lohan begins her prison sentence.

The Flashy Hair from NewSea, the Hair Named Nene!

Okay, three posts in a row about NewSea’s hair. It’s too big to ignore, though!

And there’s a back!

Someone even said:

newseahair1

What are they talking about? The “BIG WALL’O’HAIR” is referring to the Bouffant Hairstyle, which is hair that’s “piled high on the head and hanging down on the sides”. And the Bouffant hairstyle is a version of big hair. And the ‘Nene’ hairstyle looks like a straighter, longer version of these hairstyles, all from ‘90’s sitcoms:

Fran Fine from The NannyPeg Bundy from Married... With Children. NOTE that this is a wig, but still.Janice from Friends

And if you add bangs to the Sims’ hair, then you’ll get this:

Hey NewSea, if you’re taking 90’s hairstyle requests, you should do the Rachel next!

The Jersey Shore Hit…. Sims 3?

A few days ago, I was shocked that there was a good hairstyle by Newsea, that didn’t have too many runaway strands of hair or weird accessories. Yesterday, though, I checked the My Sims 3 Blog and I saw… The Snooki Poof.

For those of you who don’t know who Snooki is, she was/is a participant on the Jersey Shore, and was infamous for getting punched having a distinct hairstyle. The series is controversial for offending Italians and New Jersyans, and for promoting tanning beds.

Even people in the comments section says it reminded them of the Snooki poof.

The hairstyle’s not that bad in the game, though. The poof isn’t that big, and it looks kinda okay.

Okay, so the hairstyle grew on me. Two good hairstyles in a row. Now maybe there could be more guy ones. Maybe

And interestingly enough, Jersey Shore’s premiering its second season this month. Let’s see who they could offend now.

Normal Hair? It’s a First!

Lately, Newsea’s hairstyles have been “Love it or hate it”. No in between. It’s not surprising if the hair covers the face, or if the hair is too swishy, or if the hair has a huge bump in the back. But once in a while, Newsea actually makes good hairs. Take today’s Champagne hairstyle for example:

Source: My Sims 3 Blog

The hair’s not covering the Sims’ faces, the loose strands look normal, and it looks like something someone would wear for everyday stuff (Seriously, who’d have this hair for going to the mall or whatever?). It probably helps that Newsea based this off of an actual hairstyle, though.

I’m back!

So I came back from camp Sunday, and it was great.

Ambitions got delivered to my house some time last week, but I actually began playing it Monday. I decided to keep on playing with the Timbersons, because I didn’t feel like starting a new family/neighborhood, and I read that Twinbrook’s ugly. And I was… baffled with the results.

The skills are so far, good, I guess. Well, I’ve only tested out inventing. Let’s just say when elders who’ve been living forever don’t die from repairing and upgrading electronics, inventing is another way to lower the household limit. ;) And if that’s not working, I guess I could always have meteor-searchers.

The new hairs and clothes that came with Makeover mode are surprisingly decent, for EA standards! Yeah, sure, the female T/YA/A/E hairs aren’t the best, but there are plenty of male T/YA/A/E hairs which are good. There are also some female children hairs which are nice.

The clothes isn’t as good (For EA standards), but they’re still okay. Yeah sure, some aren’t practical (An apron outfit? Seriously, EA?), but I was shocked in a good way to see some things, like track suits for kids, or chef outfits for kids.

The furniture was nice, but if you want to use some, like the fire pole, you’d probably need to put it in from the start for it to look less awkward. </run on>

The new skill objects are too big to put anywhere. Seriously, the Makeover Station is huge, and the trampoline is, too.

And there are lots of glitches. :\

  • My Sims can’t sleep in their beds. They just sleep in it for a few Sim Minutes, then they just teleport out.
  • My Sims can’t change their outfits on their home lot. They seriously just go to the neighbor’s house to change. xD
  • My Sims can’t use the shower or bath. For the bath, they have the drawing animation (Like putting the bubbles in), and then the bath just gets empty.
  • Before Ambitions, my Sims couldn’t come home from work or school automatically, so I’d have to teleport them. Now I have to teleport them to work, too.
  • Nobody could come to my Sims’ house. The “Invite Over” option doesn’t work, Maids don’t come, Mail Carriers don’t come either (No written books or skill mastery certificates), and not even the repo man/woman comes!
  • And most of my Sims’ ages got messed up. A Sim in their mid-adult hood went back to the start of adulthood, a Sim in their mid-young adult hood went straight to adulthood, and a Sim older than their second cousin “magically” became younger.

I don’t feel like telling EA or writing on the forums, because I know they’re going to be nagging me about the evils of custom content, and they’re not going to tell me about anything else.

But other than those glitches, Ambitions is great.
